Intervista a Cassie Alexandra

Hi, Cassie and thank you for this interview. We would like to get to know you. Are you ready? Let’s start!

Staff: Prima di tutto vorremmo sapere dove vivi e quali sono i tuoi hobby oltre la scrittura

 First, we would like to know where you live e what your hobbies are, besides writing.

Cassie: I live in Minnesota and my hobbies include traveling, reading, and recently cooking.

Vivo nel Minnesota e i miei hobby sono viaggiare, leggere e, di recente, cucinare.

Staff: Quali sono le tue letture? C’è un’autrice in particolare che segui e ami alla follia? 

What kind of books do you read? Is there any author you follow and love?

Cassie: My favorite books to read are suspense and mysteries. I love detective stories especially. I also love horror, which got me into writing in the first place. The authors that I will usually read, when I have time, are John Sanford, James Patterson, and Stuart Woods. I grew up reading Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Peter Straub, and Anne Rice. 

I libri che preferisco leggere sono suspense e mystery. In particolare, amo le storie con i detective. Amo anche l’horror, che è proprio ciò che mi ha spinto a scrivere. Gli autori che leggo di solito, quando ho tempo, sono John Sanford, James Patterson e Stuart Woods. Sono cresciuta leggendo Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Peter Straub e Anne Rice. 

Staff: Come mai hai scelto il mondo dei Biker per la tua saga? 

Why did you choose the Bikers world for your series?

Cassie: I read a couple of biker stories by other authors, including Kristen Ashley (Motorcycle Man) and Joanna Wylde’s Reaper series, and couldn’t put them down. I then watched a television show called Sons of Anarchy, and was hooked, so I decided that I wanted to try writing a biker series. 

Ho letto un paio di storie sui biker scritte da altri autori, tra cui Kristen Ashley (Motorcycle Man) e la serie Reaper di Joanna Wylde, e non riuscivo a smettere di leggerli. Poi ho visto una serie TV dal nome Sons of Anarchy che mi ha preso tantissimo, perciò ho deciso che volevo provare a scrivere una serie sui biker.

Staff: Presentaci i tuoi protagonisti della serie The Biker 

Introduce your main characters from The Biker Series.

Cassie: Raptor was the first character that I created. Deep down he’s a good guy, trying to do the right thing, but stubborn and knows what he wants. Adriana, who catches his eye, is a college student and is attracted to Raptor, but is a little skittish about dating a biker. Then there’s Tank, who can be quite a badass but deep down he’s a Teddy Bear. Raptor and Tank are best friends and as close to being brothers as anyone can be. Then there’s the Judge, who is Raptor’s real half-brother. He’s a troubled loner who was beaten by his old man growing up. He doesn’t trust many people and struggles to keep his distance between himself and anyone who tries to get close. Also a hired hitman, he kills for money, but believes that he’s taking out the trash and doesn’t feel much remorse, even though he’s still committing murder. 

Raptor è il primo personaggio che ho creato. In fondo è un bravo ragazzo, che cerca di fare la cosa giusta, ma è anche testardo e sa quello che vuole. Adriana, che attira la sua attenzione, è una studentessa del college ed è attratta da Raptor, ma è un po’ restia a frequentare un biker. Poi c’è Tanca, che sa essere un osso duro, ma in fondo è un cucciolone. Raptor e Tanca sono migliori amici e al pari di fratelli. Poi c’è il Giudice, che è il fratellastro di Raptor. È un tipo solitario e tormentato, che durante l’adolescenza veniva picchiato dal padre. Non si fida di molte persone e fa di tutto per mantenere le distanze con chiunque provi ad avvicinarsi. È anche un sicario, uccide per soldi, ma lui crede di eliminare delle canaglie, perciò non prova molti rimorsi, anche se comunque commette sempre omicidi.

Staff: Ci puoi dire quale tra i vari protagonisti è il tuo preferito/a e perchè? 

Can you tell us who your favorite character is and why?

Cassie:  I love all the characters for different reasons. The most complex is the Judge, and I think it’s probably the most interesting writing about him. Tank is fun to write, so I also really enjoy the banter between him and Raptor.

Amo tutti i personaggi, per ragioni diverse. Il più complesso è il Giudice e credo che probabilmente sia il più interessante da scrivere. È divertente anche scrivere di Tanca, perciò mi piacciono molto i battibecchi tra lui e Raptor.

Staff: I nomi dei tuoi personaggi sono molto curiosi; come mai hai scelto proprio questi? 

Your characters’ names are very bizarre. Why did you choose them?

Cassie: Motorcycle clubs have road names or nicknames. They’re usually given to them by their buddies. Raptor is a bird of prey and a good hunter. He prides himself on going out and finding the enemy. Tank is huge, thus his name. Slammer received his name because of a few reasons – slamming whiskey and his enemies to the ground. So, there’s a reason why each of them have those nicknames. 

I membri dei club di motociclismo hanno nomi di strada, o soprannomi. Di solito glieli danno i loro compagni. Raptor è un rapace e un bravo cacciatore. È orgoglioso di andare a cercare il nemico. Tanca è un gigante, da qui il suo nome. Schianto ha ricevuto questo nome per dei motivi: trangugia whiskey e schianta a terra i suoi nemici. Perciò c’è un motivo per il soprannome di ciascuno di loro.

Staff: La The Biker Series l’hai finita di scrivere? Se sì, pensi di farne uno spin-off? 

Have you finished writing The Biker Series? If that is the case, do you plan to write a spin-off?

Cassie: Yes but I’m considering a spinoff. I’m first going to write about a tattoo parlor and the guys who work there. They have friends that will be visiting them from The Gold Vipers. So, you’ll see them pop up. I am also currently working on a book with another author called Phoenix Rising. It’s another biker book and I’m bringing in a character from the Biker series. Next year is when I’m considering writing a series featuring the children of the main characters from The Biker series. It might be hard to do, however, so that’s still up in the air.

Sì, ma sto pensando di scrivere uno spin-off. Prima scriverò una storia su uno studio per tatuaggi e dei ragazzi che ci lavorano. Hanno degli amici che gli faranno visita dai Gold Vipers. Perciò li vedrete comparire. Attualmente sto anche lavorando ad un libro dal titolo “Phoenix Rising” con un’altra autrice. È un altro libro sui biker e ci inserirò un personaggio della Biker Series. Per l’anno prossimo sto pensando di scrivere una serie con i figli dei protagonist della Biker Series. Tuttavia, potrebbe essere difficile, perciò non è ancora sicuro. 

Staff: Oltre alla serie The Biker pensi di pubblicare altri romanzi in Italia? 

Besides The Biker Series, do you plan to publish other books in Italy?

Cassie: Eventually, I’d like to publish all of them. 

Mi piacerebbe pubblicarli tutti, prima o poi.

Staff: Ci puoi dare qualche anticipazione?

If so, can you give us a preview of what’s to come?

Cassie: Another biker story that takes place in Minnesota. Phoenix is part of a club called Steel Bandits and like my other stories, there is drama with the club and a woman who he wants but is not making it easy for him. I’m also working a billionaire series under K.L. Middleton. It’s funny, steamy, but also suspenseful. It’s on pre-order right now at a discount at most ebook stores. This will be released in the next couple of months in English and then eventually I’ll have it translated, hopefully within the next six months. 

Un’altra storia sui biker che si svolge nel Minnesota. Phoenix fa parte di un club chiamato Steel Bandits e, come nelle altre mie storie, c’è azione con il club e lui vuole una donna che non gli rende le cose semplici. Sto anche lavorando ad una serie su un miliardario con il nome K.L. Middleton. È divertente, spinto, ma anche ricco di suspense. Si può preordinare ad un prezzo scontato su quasi tutti gli store online. Sarà pubblicato tra un paio di mesi in inglese e poi lo farò tradurre, si spera nel giro di sei mesi.

Cassie:To those who’ve read my books, thank you so much for supporting me and reading my books. For those who haven’t had the chance, I hope you do and even if biker romances aren’t your first choice in books, I also write horror and fantasy, including a zombie series, a witch series, and two vampire series, under Kristen Middleton (not quite as steamy) and humorous romance under K.L. Middleton (steamy).

A coloro che hanno letto i miei libri: grazie mille per avermi sostenuta e aver letto i miei libri. Per coloro che non ne hanno avuto occasione, spero che lo facciate.
